Connect across clinics

IT and technology

Lutra Health has launched a secure platform to connect optometrists and ophthalmologists for clinical advice, guidance, referral, and post-operative care.

The platform provides a single, auditable and fully indemnified pathway, and is already in use within private ophthalmology and NHS clinics.

The platform was founded by consultant ophthalmologists Sam Evans and Conor Ramsden with CEO Charles Solanki, and is the result of three years of development and structured feedback from more than 50 practices in the UK.

Ashton Riley has introduced Affinity Eyewear – a collection of eco-conscious frames inspired by contemporary Danish design.

Every frame is manufactured using bio-acetate for its environmental benefits and lightweight titanium for its longevity and durability.

Frames in part of the new line, the River Collection, are each named after a river in the UK.

The brand said of the new collection: “Beautifully designed, expertly crafted, and responsibly made, each frame allows wearers to look good, feel good, and make a positive choice for the planet.”

Lab management

IT and technology

Ocuco has introduced Innovations 3, its new lab management software offering up to 120 times faster processing for optical labs.

The upgrade also moves Innovations 3 to Microsoft SQL Server, an enterprise-grade database technology with advanced encryption, role-based access controls, and continuous vendor improvements.

Innovations 3 also offers differentiated modules including Rules Engine, which lets labs set custom rules from job data to shape production decisions, InnovaWeb, which provides remote, browser-based access to order tracking and status updates, and Workflow Monitor.

Leo Mac Canna, CEO of Ocuco, said: “With this investment, we’ve responded to increased data regulation and cyberattacks by replatforming to a more modern and secure database technology, while also making it faster and more powerful, delivering real, measurable benefits for our lab customers.”
