From couture to commute
Eyewear
Atlantic Optical has announced the launch of Vera Wang Eyewear in the UK.
The collection presents a selection of optical and sun styles reflecting the designer’s blend of high-fashion and everyday wearability.
The company shared that the collection is designed “for the modern woman who views her glasses not just as a necessity, but as a defining fashion accessory.”
The collection draws from Vera Wang’s design philosophy balancing modern minimalism with classic glamour, in a range of shapes to complement diverse facial contours.
Inspiration has also been drawn from her jewellery and bridal collections, with styles featuring metalwork, crystal embellishments, and custom textures that mimic the draping of couture gowns.
Vera Wang commented: “Eyewear is one of the most personal fashion statements a person can make. It is an extension of one’s style and a reflection of one’s personality. I am thrilled to bring this collection to the UK, a market that has always embraced bold individuality and timeless elegance.”

Targeted management
Dry eye
Essilor Instruments has introduced the eye-light by Espansione Group into its product offering.
The device combines Optimal Power Energy Intense Pulsed Light with Light Modulation Low-level Light Therapy in order to deliver targeted, condition-specific management for ocular surface diseases.
Paul Cumber, instruments director at EssilorLuxottica, said the all-in-one approach to light therapy enables eye care practitioners to “target the root cause of many ocular surface diseases, including dry eye.”
He suggested offering this management pathway could help expand the scope of the practice, and help to strengthen patient trust and loyalty through their dry eye management journey.
Treatment is delivered through a course of up to four sessions, each lasting approximately 15 minutes.

Personality showcase
Eyewear
OGI’s new Summer 2026 releases combine expression and personality with everyday wearability.
Styles like ‘Bundt Cake’ and ‘Chapped Lips’ offer dramatic thick styles with light colour combinations.
The ‘Lakeshore’ and ‘Snug as a Bug’ frames feature a popular two-tone colour palette and a beveled eye rim.
David Duralde, designer, said the brand is always looking for balance: “The frame should feel distinctive, but it should never overpower the person wearing it. The most successful frames are the ones people notice, but the person always comes first.”

First line for dry eye
Dry eye
BiB Ophthalmic Instruments has entered a patent and licensing agreement with BlephEx LLC.
The Blephex in-practice solution removes biofilm and demodex from the eye structure and lid margins, with the company describing it as an “essential first line treatment for blepharitis and dry eye disease.”
Tim Baker, CEO of BiB, said: “The new agreement with allow BlephEx to reach a much wider and needed audience.”
“The new structure allows us to source the product direct from the factory, vastly streamlining the current supply chain and in turn making the BlephEx device and consumables more affordable, whilst providing improved turnaround times,” he said.
