Photochromic performance
Lenses
Rodenstock has introduced ColorMatic X and ColorMatic Dark photochromic lenses.
ColorMatic X represents Rodenstock’s fastest and clearest photochromic performance. Indoors, the lens can change from the darkened state to the clear state at a rate 56% quicker than before.
The lenses darken to 88% absorption outdoors, equating to category three sunglass protection.
ColorMatic Dark is the brand’s darkest lens – optimised for warmer climates up to 35°C and activates behind the car windscreen.

Biometry and corneal topography
Myopia management
Grafton Optical has been appointed the exclusive UK distributor for the Mediworks AL551 Automatic Optical Biometer – a biometry and corneal topography platform designed to support myopia management and contact lens practice.
The device combines optical low-coherence reflectometry axial biometry with placido-disc corneal topography in a single automated device.
The system provides axial length tracking, AL/CR ratio analysis, keratometry and corneal mapping, supporting clinical decision-making for myopia monitoring, orthokeratology and anterior segment assessment.

On a wavelength
Equipment
Following a new collaboration, The Body Doctor now offers ZogniQ low-level light therapy.
ZogniQ uses multi-wavelengths, red, blue, yellow and infrared wavelengths, simultaneously to support a range of conditions in the same session.
This reduces the average session time down to 15 minutes in total, resulting in less chair time and a more comfortable experience for the patient, the company said.
Ros Mussa, learning and development manager for The Body Doctor, said ZogniQ builds on the science of low-level light therapy with a multi-wavelength, polarised platform.
“By reducing scatter and improving consistency through pre-configured delivery profiles, we’re helping practices deliver the same high standard of care every time, at every location,” Mussa said.

Pushing the limits
Sports
Marchon has highlighted the reintroduction of Nike’s All Conditions Gear (ACG) – a dedicated outdoor performance brand for athletes who seek the wild.
Built on a four-decade legacy of serving adventurous athletes, ACG has been reintroduced with the same mission: to deliver inspiration, motivation, and high-quality gear for athletes “who push their limits in all conditions.”
Nike Vision has debuted the ‘ACG Vista Vert’ and ‘ACG Vista Peak’ as part of the relaunch, both built to take on the roughest terrains.
The frames pair all-conditions durability with precision optics for athletes.
The ‘ACG Vista Vert’ features a full-framed construction, reinforcing the lens for added security, while the ‘ACG Vista Peak’ is a lightweight semi-rim design.
Dry eye tech for busy clinics
Dry eye
Essilor Instruments has added the IDRA X technology suite by SBM Sistemi to its dry eye portfolio.
Designed for busy clinics, the IDRA X features voice guidance and once the procedure is initiated, the device automatically detects and focuses on the eye and follows guided protocols that ensure optimal data acquisition.
IDRA X performs a full assessment of the ocular surface through a series of tear film tests, including an enhanced meibomian gland assessment using the IR transillumination device.
The workflow of the platform combines patient symptomology, capture and evaluation of data, and presents this in an easy-to-understand way.
And don’t miss this...
Make a statement
Morel has revealed ‘Sideral,’ a new bold masculine style in thick acetate.
The frame is designed to make a statement and provide a structured look, whilst also highlighting the wearer’s personality.
The temple core of the frame is embedded in translucent acetate, subtly visible in the light, while the hook of the patented hinge – designed without screws or soldering – is deliberately emphasised.

Playful style
Woow, from Design Eyewear Group, has introduced a new ‘Let’s Play’ collection of bold, fun styles in sun and optical models.
From the collection, ‘Time’s Up’ features a thick frame front with a playful cut-out design detail.
The brand shared that the frame signals “it’s time for you to rule and to shine.”
The ‘Lucky Charm’ frame features a metal bar detail rising from the perforated acetate “like a colourful talisman.”
