Fun in the sun
From playful eyewear, to sunglasses for little ones to explore in – OT rounds up what is new in the market
05 June 2026
As summer approaches, OT has gathered a selection of launches in sunglasses, from wearers seeking something bold and playful, to frames for the smallest wearers.
Welcoming the sun
Carolina Herrera has launched its eyewear campaign for spring and summer, featuring bold silhouettes and modern colours.
The campaign has been designed as an ode to spring, combining high-fashion aesthetics with playful moments for a look that suggests “elegance – vibrant, joyful, and unmistakably Carolina Herrera.”
New signature styles include sculptural, oversize frames and details including rounded metal studs – inspired by the brand’s polka dot motif.
Oversized temples feature contrasting acetates and are completed with Carolina Herrera end tips.

Rock glam
The Karl Lagerfeld spring/summer 2026 collection introduces two sunglasses inspired by rock-chic style.
Made from lightweight metal, the ‘KL366S’ has an oval front and slim temples with a discreet KL monogram. The frame is available in dark silver, silver, amber gold, and rose gold.
The ‘KL365S’ features a geometric front, complemented by lenses that evoke “futuristic glamour.” The frame is made from an ultra-lightweight metal and is available in four metal finish options. This model is available in light gold, gold shiny, dark silver, and silver.

Presenting the prickly pear
Ferilli Eyewear, an independent Italian brand founded by optician and orthoptist Cristiano Ferilli, has extended its eco-sustainable collection.
The Trame – After Collection is designed from cellulose acetate and embedded with prickly pear cactus fibres – a plant symbolic of the Mediterranean.
The plant fibre remains visible within the translucent acetate, adding colour and texture. The collection includes three models: ‘Radika,’ ‘Spinae,’ and ‘Terrea.’

UV protection for the littlest wearers
Dibble Optical has expanded the Milo & Me Sun range with new baby sunglasses, providing UV protection for wearers aged up to two years old.
The frames provide a soft and secure fit for little ones on the move.
Available in sizes nought to one and one to two, the frames are lightweight and flexible for everyday wear.
The designs are available in three pastel shades: lemon, cotton candy, and mint green.

Rewind design
Eco Eyewear has introduced the Retrospect Collection, revisiting classic shapes with a modern twist.
The frames are made from sustainable biobased material made from castor seeds, with a spring hinge and adjustable temple core.
Every model includes a magnetic sun clip with polarised lenses with the magnets acting as pin details.
The collection brings vintage inspiration into the present with shiny, transparent finishes and muted tones.
Launches include the ‘Cecil’ frame, which provides a masculine style in black, grey blue, crystal, and smoke grey.
The ‘Tyndall’ frame presents a bold masculine frame with a double bridge bar in black, dark tortoise, grey crystal, and grey blue.
