Alcon has unveiled a new one-week replacement contact lens, Precision 7.
The contact lens features the Activ-Flo System, which brings together a new silicone hydrogel material with a moisturising agent bound into the lens, and proprietary replenishing agent released during the seven days of wear.
A toric version of the contact lens has also been launched at the same time for astigmatic wearers.

Rollout for astigmatic presbyopes
Johnson & Johnson has announced the UK rollout of the Acuvue Oasys Max 1-Day Multifocal for Astigmatism, which it describes as the first and only daily disposable multifocal toric lens for astigmatic presbyopes.
The lens combines four technologies including Eyelid Stabilised Design to provide symmetrical lens thickness on each side to allow the lens to naturally realign with blinking, and Pupil Optimised Design for crisp vision at all distances.
The OptiBlue Light Filter offers blue-violet light filtering, plus class 1 UV protection. Finally, TearStable Technology optimises wetting agent distribution to prolong tear-film stability, the company said.

Progressive lens
Bausch + Lomb showcased the new Bausch + Lomb Ultra One Day Multifocal.
The contact lens features moisture and comfort technologies, and Bausch + Lomb’s 3-Zone Progressive Design. The company suggested the contact lens “delivers the most progressive lens for ageing eyes.”
The company has made references available on its website.

Myopia management materials
CooperVision has launched the MyDay MiSight 1 Day contact lens – combining myopia management with silicone hydrogel material.
The move brings the manufacturer’s myopia management design into its MyDay lens portfolio.
The new lens will be introduced to the market in the same power range as CooperVision’s original MiSight 1 Day and the same parameters as the MyDay lens portfolio.

Easy fitting
Ultravision returned to 100% Optical joined by Scotlens, following the acquisition of the specialist lens company in 2025.
The companies showcased the combined portfolio of specialist contact lenses, including the recently-launched EasyScleral X, designed for quicker and easier fitting.
