The perfect fit
From the first introduction to spectacle wearing and designs for fashion-conscious tweens and teens – OT gathers new designs in children’s eyewear
07 August 2026
In designing for the youngest of spectacle wearers, eyewear manufacturers have focused on enhancing fit, inclusive designs and fun styles. OT takes a look.
Frames for early-years
Dibble Optical has expanded its Milo & Me range with two early-years models: ‘Mika’ and ‘Toni.’
Designed to support the first step into eyewear for babies and toddlers, the frames are lightweight and hinge-free with no metal parts, and aim to provide a comfortable fit for developing facial features and young wearers on the move.
Both ‘Toni’ and ‘Mika’ frames are available in sizes for one-to-two and two-to-three year-olds in a range of soft colours.

Unexpected colour
Lacoste has showcased its Kids & Tweens eyewear collection for spring/summer 2026, with colourful and creative designs.
The Lacoste Kids Color Twist frames are made from bio-injected material and feature temples with a rotating rubber module with a textured piqué pattern on one side and multiple colour combinations.
Pre-cut temple markers support length adjustment, while glow-in-the-dark variants illuminate after daylight exposure.
The ‘L3667’ presents a modified rectangular front piece, while the ‘L3668’ is a round shape.
Part of the Lacoste Tweens Mini Lines family, the rectangular ‘L3665’ and rounded ‘L3666’ feature temple stripes and coloured piping accents, as well as rubberised tips. Select variants also glow in the dark.
All frames feature the iconic Lacoste croc logo.

Fashion-conscious comfort
Eyespace has launched four new optical styles to its Rock Star collection for children and teens: ‘Brooke,’ ‘Edie,’ ‘Hallie,’ and ‘Jack.’
The models have been developed to support the needs of younger wearers while reflecting demand for fashion-conscious and expressive design.
Selected models also incorporate features like Smart Fit technology, 180-degree flex hinges, lower bridge fittings and bio-based materials, alongside the biodegradable demo lenses used across the collection.
The company highlighted ‘Hallie’ as a stand-out piece from the collection as it is designed to provide comfort and stability for younger wearers who often struggle with traditional fits.
The ‘Hallie’ features a rounded eye shape with a lower bridge fitting, Smart Fit technology to support optimal lens positioning, and 180-degree flex hinge for flexibility and durability.
The ‘Jack’ frame has been designed with teenagers in mind with a larger fit suited to broader face shapes and growing head sizes, while flex hinges support comfort.
For teenagers and larger head sizes, the ‘Edie’ presents a soft geometric shape and marbled colour finish, crafted in bio-based acetate.
Taking inspiration from retro styles, ‘Brooke’ is lightweight, made from bio-based acetate and features flex hinges.

Mix and match
Exeter Eyewear has launched the iPlay ViBES mix and match collection which tailors fashion trends for children and teenagers.
The styles ‘2801’ and ‘2806’ offer a choice between rectangular or curved designs with sizes available in 46, 48 and 50mm.
Each frame is available in crystal or gloss black and can be personalised with a choice of five coloured side options.
The frames, made from Trogamid polymer, can be built by practitioners in-practice or ordered pre-assembled from distributors Spec-Care Ltd and Bondeye Optical.
Exeter Eyewear highlighted that Z-05 and Z-19 bridges ensure accurate fit, while soft nose pads, bendy hinges, and ergonomic temple designs support comfort.
The company noted that complimentary spares, easy returns and accidental damage exchange warranties are available through distributors.

Mindful materials
Red Eyewear has unveiled its new Planet Pop collection of eyewear for children, commenting: “Designed for little faces and big adventures, every frame is crafted using materials that are mindful of the environment.”
The range introduces new shapes including soft rounds, hexagonal, and classic shapes with bold contrasting colour combinations.
The company has also enhanced fit with flexible hinges and lower nose bridge placements to ensure the glasses are worn in the correct position.
The company said: “Patients can trust that these frames are durable and built with the children’s faces and vision in mind.”

Lovable characters
Continental Eyewear has expanded its Mr Men Little Miss collection with two new children’s styles.
The ‘Little Miss Naughty 01’ features a subtle butterfly-shaped metal frame with a rounded front, while Little Miss Naughty appears on the temple along with patterned tips. The frame is available in two colourways.
The ‘Mr Noisy 01’ angular metal frame features the recognisable character on the sides with bright red patterned temple tips. The frame is also available in two colourways.
The new launches form part of Continental Eyewear’s ranges for children, with additional styles introduced across the Lazer Junior, Matrix Kids and Zenith collections.

Mini Me
Guess Eyewear has highlighted its Mini Me collection, exploring the connection between mother and daughter through a reinterpreted cat’s eye style.
The ‘GU00310’ features curved metal temples accented with the new italic Guess logo engraving.
The style is reflected in the angular butterfly-shaped children’s frame ‘GU00315.’
