New education sessions released for 100% Optical 2026

A new release of education sessions has been added to the 100% Optical 2026 continuing professional development (CPD) programme.
The additional sessions have been added to the programme ahead of CPD bookings opening in the New Year. Bookings open exclusively for AOP members on 19 January, with bookings opening to all on 28 January.
The programme has been curated by the AOP, as the event’s official UK partner.

Sessions include lectures, peer reviews, and workshops, and are designed to support professional development, providing insight into the latest advancements in clinical practice.
Dr Ian Beasley, head of education at the AOP and OT clinical editor, said: “This year's exciting programme reflects the breadth and depth of our profession – offering an extensive range of CPD opportunities.”
“From clinical innovation to sustainability, the sessions will give practitioners the tools and knowledge to deliver the best care for patients, while engaging with the future delivery of eye care,” he added.
The latest release of education sessions include a Main Stage lecture by Sharmina Khan, consultant ophthalmologist, titled Drop the drops!
Dr Scott Mackie, specialty optometrist, will also present a Main Stage lecture, titled: “Not a lotta people know that” – top tips from an old optom.
The Optical Academy will host a lecture by Professor James Wolffsohn, head of Aston University School of Optometry, on managing contrast to slow myopia progression, while the Dispensing Workshop will see Professor Keziah Latham, optometrist and professor at Anglia Ruskin University, present: “I can see the N5, but...”
Delegates observing Ramadan will be able to access prayer rooms, Iftar refreshments, and a meal voucher available on request through the registration form. More details can be found on the 100% Optical website.
