Practices in Liskeard and Cheltenham feature in an edition that showcases how eye care professionals can support the NHS
03 October 2025
A digital window into secondary care and a practice offering minor eye condition services in Cornwall were featured in OT’s October/November Prevention and policy edition.
Through the cover story, OT outlined how optometrists across England are supporting the Government’s three key shifts for the NHS: from hospital to community, from treatment to prevention and from analogue to digital.
IP optometrist, Ankur Trivedi, was photographed at Keith Holland Opticians in Cheltenham. The practice has Community Ophthalmic Link software – technology that enables optometrists to see all the information and images that clinicians in secondary care have access to.
Reflecting on the photoshoot, Trivedi told OT that while he is not normally the most natural photo subject, the experience was easier than he had anticipated.
“Gareth was excellent at putting me at ease,” he said.
Photographer, Gareth Jones, captured photographs of Trivedi at the Imperial Gardens in Cheltenham as well as in practice.
Trivedi paid special thanks to practice director, Dermot Keogh, for accommodating the shoot and practice manager, Amy Windridge, who helped to manage logistics and take behind the scenes photographs.
Behind the cover story
Optometrist, Michaela Leitso, and dispensing optician, Sarah Sobey, were photographed at Thompsons Opticians in Liskeard.
Inclement weather meant that the window for an outdoor element of the photoshoot was brief.
“We had a quick change of location and strange looks from passersby as camera equipment was carried through the town,” Sobey shared.
“Overall, the experience was fun and it was a pleasure to have been invited to participate,” she said.
