ACLM appoints new secretary general

Luke Stevens-Burt, former CEO of the BCLA, will take on the role in June

The Association of Contact Lens Manufacturers (ACLM) has appointed Luke Stevens-Burt as its new secretary general, taking on the role from June on a part-time basis.

Stevens-Burt is the former CEO of the British Contact Lens Association, where he led key initiatives including membership development programmes, governance reforms, and education activities, resulting in growth and increased organisational reach.

The ACLM highlighted that the establishment of the BCLA CLEAR research brand demonstrated his external relations and advocacy expertise.

Stevens-Burt holds a BSc in systems thinking and English language, and is a Fellow of the Society Association and Membership Professionals.

The ACLM described Stevens-Burt's experience in overseeing stakeholder engagement, implementing projects that have produced positive results in organisational development and strategy setting, and workforce development.

The association described the appointment as marking a “milestone.”
