Specsavers is set to open a new practice in Fort William – its first in the West Highlands.

The new practice will open on 23 March after an investment of £500,000, and will offer both eye care, including optical coherence tomography, and audiology services.

Specsavers Fort William will be run by retail director, Ryan Turner, and ophthalmic director, Fiona Cannon.

The current nearest Specsavers practices to Fort William are in Helensburgh and Oban, both in Argyll and Bute. Turner and Cannon have both previously worked as partners at Specsavers Oban.

Specsavers Fort William will be located on the High Street, in unit nine of the Tweedale Buildings.

Turner called the opening “an exciting milestone for us and the community.”

“It allows us to meet the growing demand in the area while continuing to deliver the highest form of care for our customers,” he said.

Cannon added: “This new store represents our commitment to growing alongside the community.

“We can’t wait to welcome the first customers to our new state-of-the-art store.”
