Vision Express completes Tesco Opticians acquisition
The multiple has acquired the supermarket chain’s optician network for an undisclosed sum
04 December 2017
The deal to incorporate 209 Tesco Opticians stores into Vision Express has been completed by the multiple’s owner, GrandVision.
Vision Express has now expanded its portfolio to 600 practices across the UK and Ireland.
All Tesco Opticians employees have been made part of the Vision Express team and existing customers will continue to receive eye health services. Vision Express confirmed to OT that Tesco Opticians will be rebranded in 2018.
CEO of Vision Express, Jonathan Lawson (pictured), said that the deal is a landmark moment for the multiple.
“This expansion will allow us to offer a thorough and convenient optical service to reach even more people, and we hope to convince them to make their sight a bigger priority, whilst also delivering good value for money from our extensive product range,” he said.
The financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
