The German eyewear company’s owner has sold his majority stake

Ralph Anderl

The German investment firm, Premium Equity Partners, has acquired a majority of shares in the eyewear manufacturer ic! Berlin.

Ralph Anderl, who was previously the sole owner of the company, has taken on the new position as a member of the advisory board. Jorg Reinhold is now chief executive officer of the company.

“With Premium I was able to successfully initiate the succession for my company,” Mr Anderl explained.

“Together, we will continue along ic! Berlin’s unapologetic path. I am happy that we were able to inspire our new co-owners with our plans for the future,” he said.

The company will use future investments to target growth through the development and expansion in new international markets, as well as acquisitions.

Chief executive officer of Premium, Marcel van Wijk, said: “We look forward to implementing the plans for growth with ic! Berlin. The international presence, the production and design know-how and the dynamics of the ic! Berlin team provide an excellent basis for growth.”
