Rodenstock showcases photochromic family
Jason Halsey, product and training manager at Rodenstock, provided a demonstration of the ColorMatic Dark and ColorMatic X at 100% Optical
Rodenstock showcased its new range of ColorMatic photochromic lenses, including the ColorMatic Dark and the relaunched ColorMatic X at 100% Optical (28 February–2 March).
The ColorMatic Dark offers Rodenstock’s deepest darkening lens and works with a visible light dye system, designed to perform consistently in warmer climates and also behind the windscreen of a car.
Jason Halsey, product and training manager at Rodenstock, showed OT a ColorMatic demonstration video which presented a comparison of a clear lens and photochromic lens when driving through a tunnel.
He also demonstrated the Rodenstock lens wall which has magnetic features to enable practices to easily change over information boards and for patients to be able to interact with lenses.
With the ColorMatic X and Dark comes the release of new ColorMatic demonstration books to showcase the reaction speeds and colours of the photochromic lenses.
Discussing some of the tools available to support practices, Halsey explained: “We've got our digital ecosystem that links all of our equipment, [and] links our dispensing portfolio together. We’ve also got a digital product catalogue. We have an order tracking system.”
When patients purchase a Rodenstock lens, they can also access an app featuring their biometric information and warranty card.
Halsey said of the app: “People get a bit more invested in their eye health because they can show their friends, their family, their eye health on their on their phone, and then it becomes much more part of the discussion, so people actually come in and have more regular sight tests. It helps drive footfall into the practices.”
