Jai Kudo Lenses present Signature varifocals
The new progressive lens is designed for customers who require “pinnacle performance,” OT learnt
Jai Kudo Lenses, part of the Millmead Optical Group, has presented its new progressive lens, Signature.
The company showcased the new premium lens at 100% Optical 2026 (28 February – 2 March).
Matt Holmes, training and product specialist for Jai Kudo Lenses, told OT: “As we move forward in the world of varifocals, they are becoming increasingly complicated.”
“I like to think varifocals have reached a point where most people can expect performance – the technology is great now, so how do you reach that next level? It tends to be with extra steps, extra parts, and hardware,” he explained.
With Signature, the company hopes to provide a lens that “does not compromise on quality” but without extra steps.
Holmes said: “We’re trying to bring high-end pinnacle optics wrapped in simplicity. A very easy lens to dispense, very quick to dispense, but without compromising the end result.”
The lens is customisable, integrating newly-refined visual zones with enhanced clarity and intuitive adaptation features, the company has said.
The company’s bespoke lens solution, Kudos, uses virtual reality technology to support the creation of a progressive lens designed using the wearer’s gaze dynamics.
With the Signature lens, Holmes explained: “We’ve been able to trickle down a subset of those technologies into a simpler format. You can now get a taste of the very highest end lenses but in something you can sell day-to-day for every patient.”
He said: “If a customer requires pinnacle performance, this is the best technology we’ve ever offered, but without the trepidation of something new. It is a very simplified format – we're giving the best vision possible, in a very comfortable and familiar system.”
