From interactive stands designed to introduce new contact lenses, to workshops and hands-on experience, delegates can expect a packed programme of activity from contact lens manufacturers at 100% Optical.

OT polled contact lens suppliers for their plans and picked out education highlights from the programme.

Unveiling new launches

The team at Alcon confirmed: “We are delighted to join 100% Optical, where we will be unveiling an exciting new contact lens,” adding that the stand will include seven interactive areas for delegates to experience the new lens.

Alcon’s professional education team has also prepared sessions on the myths around toric lenses, same-day sign offs, strengthening patient confidence, and team collaboration, as well as habit hacks and stacking techniques to boost compliance.

“Sessions are packed with practical takeaways that can be used immediately in practice,” the company said.

Alcon identified toric as a key opportunity for practices in 2026, sharing: “Around half of all contact lens wearers have 0.75D or more astigmatism at least one eye. However, only around a quarter of soft lenses prescribed are toric.”

“This gives practices a huge opportunity to fit more patients with toric soft contact lenses, providing those patients with clearer vision and better comfort,” the company noted.

Presbyopia interactivity

Johnson & Johnson will host three CPD-accredited sessions on-stand each day of the show, providing a hands-on experience through ‘Mission Presby-Possible – a visionary escape room.’ The interactive workshop will enable practitioners to apply clinical expertise while supporting toric multifocal contact lens fitting success and patient satisfaction.

The sessions are inspired by the launch of Johnson & Johnson’s new multifocal toric lens.

The new lens, the Acuvue Oasys Max 1-Day Multifocal for Astigmatism, described as the “first and only” daily disposable multifocal toric lens for astigmatic presbyopes, will be showcased at 100% Optical.

The company highlighted that the lens combines four technologies, including its Eyelid Stabilised Design, which provides symmetrical lens thickness on each side to allow the lens to naturally realign without blinking, while the Pupil Optimised Design “offers crisp vision at all distances.”

The OptiBlue Light Filter provides blue-violet light filtering and UV protection, and TearStable Technology optimises wetting-agent distribution to prolong tear-film stability.

Contact lens experts on the Main Stage

Sheena Tanna-Shah, optometrist and founder of Inspiring Success, will present a Main Stage lecture on 2 March at 12pm called The habit effect.

Drawing on behavioural science and wellbeing research, the lecture will explore how stress, cognitive load and decision fatigue influence health behaviours. Tanna-Shah will consider how these factors affect both eye care practitioners, as well as how they influence patient behaviours in contact lens replacement, eye drop adherence, and ocular hygiene routines.

Contact lens education at the AOP Lounge

The AOP Lounge will host CPD sessions across the three days of the show, delivered in partnership with CooperVision (28 February), Johnson & Johnson (1 March), and Optos (2 March).

Walk-in spaces are reserved across the education programme for delegates without bookings to join on a first-come, first-served basis. For walk-in spaces, delegates are encouraged to arrive at their chosen sessions five to 10 minutes early.
