Optical Women's Association to host global event at 100% Optical

The Optical Women’s Association (OWA) will host a networking and connection event during 100% Optical.

Taking place on Saturday 28 February at 3.45pm on the 100% Catwalk, the event will seek to bring together women from across the optical industry for inspiration, practical advice and networking.

Nany Gries, chair of the OWA international expansion committee will open the event, Owning your path – leadership and resilience.

The event will feature a panel discussion of inspiring women in optics, facilitated by Dr Pretty Basra.

Panellists will include Jayne Abel, the co-founder and CEO of Eyespace, vice-chair of the Optical Suppliers Association and advocate for sustainability, and Dr Caroline Casey, global diversity, equity and inclusion board member at L’Oréal, president of the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness, and diversity advisory council member to Sky.

The event will also welcome support from Dame Mary Perkins, the co-founder of Specsavers.

The OWA Global Event is being held as part of the OWA’s initiative to expand its international reach, with the aim of creating more opportunities for women across the optical industry to connect and lead.
