Exhibitors from eyewear, lenses, equipment, and practice, have shared a hint of what delegates can expect from their stands at 100% Optical, Excel London, 28 February–2 March.

Here, OT has gathered seven insights from the show floor.

1 Wearables, vision care, and style with EssilorLuxottica

EssilorLuxottica will bring its portfolio of innovations from vision care to eyewear, along with education, to 100% Optical.

A key highlight from the exhibitor will be the launch of the Essilor Stellest 2.0 lenses for myopia management in children.

The company will also be showcasing innovation in wearable technology, displaying its range of Ray-Ban Meta and Oakley Meta, as well as the hearing solution Nuance Audio.

The company’s portfolio of eyewear will be on display, as well as the latest in lenses such as Varilux XR series, Transitions Gen S and Eyezen.

Tim Precious, general manager for the UK and Ireland at EssilorLuxottica, said: “We believe offering wearable technology to patients will be a gamechanger for optical practices in 2026. Our wearables blend style, functionality, and health benefits and are designed to be so versatile that one day they may even replace traditional connected devices.”

“This will therefore be a major focus for us, and we invite eye care professionals to join this exciting journey as we expand distribution and welcome new partners,” he added.

EssilorLuxottica is sponsoring the 100% Optical Academy and delivering two CPD sessions on managing digital eye strain and presbyopia, and dispensing recommendations.

The company will deliver two non-CPD sessions on the OSA stand on smart eyewear and optics and acoustics.

5 On-stand education from Specsavers

Specsavers will provide a CPD programme for optometrists and dispensing opticians on its stand during 100% Optical.

Topics will range from sustainability, fundus imaging and glaucoma qualifications, to changing lives through dual wear, presbyopia, and urgent eye care management.

In addition, Neil Retallic, head of optometry development at Specsavers, will lead a peer review on mental health for eye care professionals. The session, Look after yourself to better eye health, will be held on the Specsavers stand at 9.15am on 1 March.

6 Glaucoma, AMD, and cataracts with Newmedica

Newmedica will present CPD sessions on integrated care, glaucoma, age-related macular degeneration (AMD), and cataract surgery lenses during 100% Optical, both on the exhibitor’s stand and the Main Stage.

Delegates will have the chance to ‘have a go’ at cataract surgery through a synthetic eye demonstration.

One workshop, Beyond the pressure: recognising normal tension glaucoma and its mimics, will guide participants through fundus imaging, optical coherence tomography (OCT) images, and visual field plots to distinguish normal tension glaucoma from benign anomalies.

The session, What lies beneath: unearthing the clues for AMD, will use case studies to highlight how thorough history-taking, careful examination and appropriate imaging can uncover early signs of AMD. Case studies will follow each patient from diagnosis to treatment, offering practical insights for clinical decision making.

A third workshop will explore extended depth of focus lenses, increasingly used as an alternative to traditional monofocal lenses during cataract surgery.

Nigel Kirkpatrick, medical director for Newmedica, will present a lecture on the Main Stage, exploring how integrated care models can transform outcomes, sharing examples of clinical innovations that can be part of the solution, and pathways that enhance patient centred care and experience.

The system is designed to provide consistent and high-quality assessments across multiple sites and in a variety of care settings.

The company will provide live demonstrations during 100% Optical.
