100% Optical

A refined range from Rebel Eyewear

The eyewear brand celebrated its first anniversary at 100% Optical 2025. OT heard from co-founder, Zainab Suleman, on the factors shaping eyewear purchases

Celebrating its first anniversary, Rebel Eyewear attended 100% Optical (1–3 March) for the second time in 2025.

For the 2025 show, Rebel Eyewear relaunched its Kühl and Parker & Payne lines, taking on customer feedback following the launch of the brands last year.

Zainab Suleman, co-founder of Rebel Eyewear and owner of several practices and a domiciliary business, shared: “We’ve refined the brands and have come back this year with a brand-new offering, which I think the customer is going to be happy with.”

She added: “It will then align these two brands with the two brands that were very successful last year, Edge and Luca Wolf.”

Geometric shapes, cat’s eye styles, and colour, are key trends at the moment.

Suleman said: “Fashion is at an all-time high, especially in the UK. I think Europe has always been quite fashionable. We’re definitely catching up here, and I’m beginning to see that with what people are requesting when people come into our stores as well.”

“What we are seeing in store now is that people want the fashion but they need it to be affordable,” she said.

Consumers are increasingly being drawn towards online retailers, Suleman reflected, which is having an effect on footfall in practice.

“In order to keep our customers in store, we have to offer a range of eyewear and a range of prices that speak to every person with different budgets and a range of styles as well,” she said.

Suleman continued: “That’s what we’ve created at Rebel Eyewear. We’ve created that range so it’s a very easy offering for opticians that buy from us.”
