The optical trade show 100% Optical has been acquired by CloserStill Media, a specialist events business delivering trade shows for professionals in pharmacy and dentistry.

The purchase has been agreed with Media 10, the events company that established 100% Optical in 2014.

The AOP is the official UK partner for the trade show, while Optometry Today is the official media partner.

The AOP, which has supported the event since its launch, has welcomed the news, with chief executive, Adam Sampson, commenting: “Over the last decade, there is no doubt that 100% Optical has grown to become an extra special date in the calendar for the entire profession.”

Sampson said: “With an unrivalled education programme designed and delivered by the AOP team, the continued growth of 100% Optical – which is now supported by the industry’s leading contact lens, equipment and eyewear manufacturers – is a testament to the commitment and strength of our partnership with Media 10.”

“We now look forward in earnest to working with CloserStill Media to build on this success to make 100% Optical even bigger and better for attendees and exhibitors alike,” he added.

Considering CloserStill Media’s experience in delivering events for healthcare professionals, Sampson said: “100% Optical’s future could not look brighter.”

CloserStill Media runs more than 100 events in the sectors of healthcare, business technology, and future transport and infrastructure.

Events by CloserStill Media include The Pharmacy Show, Diabetes Professional Care, Therapy Expo, Dental Technology Showcase, and HealthSpaces.
