Optegra named Doctify’s number one

The private healthcare provider receives a top rating from the online platform

Alex Shortt

Optegra Eye Hospital has received “top rated eye hospital” recognition from online patient review platform Doctify.

The private healthcare provider, alongside its 90 consultants, has received the highest number of positive reviews on the healthcare website when pitted against its ophthalmic hospital and clinic counterparts.

Optegra entered a partnership with Doctify as a way to introduce potential patients to its  NHS-trained consultant surgeons. Through the platform, potential patients who are considering, or have been referred, for eye surgery can read verified patient reviews about each consultant.

Optegra’s highest reviewed surgeon on Doctify is consultant ophthalmic surgeon Alex Shortt.

Commenting on the recognition, Mr Shortt said: “With all healthcare, recommendations of individual surgeons and hospitals are invaluable. And I think even more so with ophthalmic surgery as eyes are so incredibly precious to us, and so naturally patients can feel particularly apprehensive about treatment.”

The award was presented to Optegra at its flagship Queen Anne Street hospital in London earlier this month.

This new award system has been created by Doctify to “acknowledge and celebrate” the healthcare providers that are most reviewed by patients, it explained.

Co-founder of Doctify, Dr Stephanie Eltz, added: “Optegra doesn’t shy away from asking their patients for feedback and this transparency is exactly what healthcare needs.”
