30 years in Maghull

An independent optometry practice in Maghull, Sefton has celebrated 30 years delivering eye care in its local community.

Nikki Fenner Optometrist was established three decades ago. Founded by local optometrist Nikki Fenner in 1996, today it is the largest independent practice in Maghull.

In the last 30 years, Fenner highlighted that the Hakim Group practice has become a well-established community hub that is known for clinical excellence and strong patient relationships. She added that it has welcomed families generation after generation.

Reflecting on the milestone, Fenner said: “Reaching 30 years in practice is something I’m incredibly proud of. When I first started, optometry looked very different; we had far less technology and a very different role in patient care.”

“Over the years, we’ve adapted alongside the industry, embracing new advancements while holding onto what matters most, which is taking the time to treat every patient as an individual. That’s what has helped us build such strong relationships within the community,” she added.

Today the practice has expanded its clinical offering, providing enhanced services as well as myopia management and visual assessments.

Fenner said: “We’ve always aimed to offer more than just eye tests. Whether it’s supporting patients with more complex needs or simply making sure someone feels listened to, that personal approach is at the heart of everything we do.”

Fenner shared that she is excited to continue growing the practice, “bringing in new ideas and technology, and making sure our patients always have access to the best care possible.”

The practice hosted a range of offers and in-practice activities throughout April. As part of the celebrations, anyone born in 1996 will be eligible for a complimentary enhanced eye exam.
