For some patients, eyewear that is ultra flexible and durable will be a key priority. ReForm Eyewear aims to meet this need with designs backed by global patents that re-form back into their original shape.

Following the launch of the brand with Mondottica Group in spring this year, OT spoke with Wilfried Stephan, ICare Group brand and key account manager.

Who is the ideal ReForm Eyewear wearer?

ReForm is for those who demand more from themselves and from what they wear. Our audience is discerning, design-conscious and always in motion. They do not only want a logo, they want meaning. For them, it is about intention, precision, and the quiet confidence of knowing that what they wear is made to last and made to move. Every element of the ReForm experience has been designed to reflect who we are: thoughtful, forward-moving and uncompromisingly refined.

What makes the company and its approach unique?

ReForm Eyewear will bring added values for opticians and benefits to customers. The brand offers a unique opportunity to create a strong relationship with customers by offering them a real and unique experience: the demonstration of a frame that always returns to its original shape.

What is the latest product ReForm Eyewear launched and what makes it distinctive?

The latest launch was our titanium segment which combines a unique design with premium materials to bring lightness, comfort and attitude to the wearer.

What are the company’s main ambitions for the next 12 months?

Through patented technology, the goal is to penetrate 100% of the market: optical, sun, men’s, women’s, kids, acetate, metal, rimless, and on.

Could you tell us about working with Mondottica?

Mondottica is the key partner for ReForm in terms of global distribution, alignment with ReForm’s sustainability DNA, customer focus and position in their brand portfolio.

What are the key trends you expect in the coming months?

Retailers are expressing a desire for fewer – but better – brands, focusing on those with story and identity. I also expect to see sportswear continue to dominate in lifestyle fashion. Technical innovation will become a differentiator, and sustainability is moving from a ‘nice to have’ to ‘mandatory.’

What are the main external challenges you see in the industry?

I can see retail consolidation and reduced shelf space being challenges, along with rising costs across the supply chain.

What are the biggest opportunities you currently see?

At ReForm Eyewear, we identified a significant opportunity in the eyewear market. While memory metal technology has made an impact, it primarily appeals to men over 40, leaving out women and younger demographics.

ReForm Eyewear is engineered with advanced new materials never used in the eyewear industry, opening a whole new world of possibilities. Unlimited options of textures, colours and translucencies for men, women, kids, sports and sun.
