Monarkh Eyewear landed gracefully on the eyewear scene this spring with a debut at 100% Optical.

Founded by dispensing optician, Saira Patel, the brand seeks to provide luxury and statement eyewear in petite and medium sizes.

In addition to hosting its grand reveal at 100% Optical, the brand was recognised for the new designer of the year accolade during the Love Eyewear Awards.

However, the journey began back in 2024, with a year spent sourcing premium acetate and perfecting manufacturing, Patel told OT.

Now, the brand is ready to share its collection of frames that “bring the optician’s touch to the forefront of luxury fashion.” OT learnt more.

Tell us about the debut collection and – why does it stand out from the crowd?

Our debut features over 25 distinct models in total within the Monarkh Collection. It stands out because it delivers striking, avant-garde presence without the typical ‘oversized’ slip. Each piece is meticulously scaled to remain perfectly positioned on smaller facial profiles, ensuring bold design never compromises an impeccable fit.

What is your personal favourite product?

It is impossible to choose just one, but our Noble and Reign collections are true standouts. These series are designed for those with a discerning eye for the extraordinary — blending bold, architectural silhouettes with a palette of unique, unexpected colours. They are a celebration of individuality.

What makes the company and its products unique?

Our mastery of precision geometry. While the industry typically designs for ‘average’ proportions, we engineer luxury frames that finally respect the anatomy of refined [petite to medium] facial structures.

What are the company’s main ambitions for the next 12 months?

To establish Monarkh as the premier choice for independent boutiques and discerning visionaries globally.

What informs or inspires your work?

My passion lies in designing eyewear with a distinct, defiant character. Exhausted by the generic, uninspired frames flooding the market, I founded Monarkh to solve a personal frustration; as someone with a petite face, I was tired of settling for frames that were merely functional rather than fashionable.

As a qualified dispensing optician, I’ve seen countless clients face this same struggle. I created this brand to bridge that gap, using clinical precision to transform a common fit issue into an architectural statement.

Many people with petite features think glasses simply don’t suit them, when in reality, they just haven’t had access to a proportional fit.

What key trends do you expect to see in the months ahead?

A shift toward ‘intentional luxury’ — customers are moving away from loud logos in favour of superior materials like Mazzucchelli acetate and a fit that feels bespoke.

What are some of the external and market challenges you see facing the sector?

The one-size-fits-all mentality. Many people with petite features think glasses simply don’t suit them, when in reality, they just haven’t had access to a proportional fit. We are here to change that narrative.

What are the biggest opportunities that you see currently?

The rise of the specialist-led brand. Today’s customer values the expertise of a professional who understands that true luxury begins with precision and an uncompromising fit.
