Sculptural cool
Frames
Barton Perreira’s new collection explores sculptural design and architectural influence with geometry, beveling, and transparent detailing.
The colourways include warm translucent neutrals with classic tortoiseshell, gradients evoking sunlight refracted through glass and ombré lenses inspired by Murano glass and dusky skies.
Craftsmen in Japan bevel and polish the eyewear by hand, with Patty Perreira, brand co-founder and creative director describing it as “a lost art in today’s world. It’s slow, precise, and it’s what makes our eyewear exceptional.”

Ultra imaging
Technology
Optos has launched Silverstone RGB, a new system building on the Silverstone platform with a suite of nine imaging modalities in a single device.
The device combines a 200-degree ultra-widefield imaging with swept-source optical coherence tomography (OCT).
The nine modalities include optomap colour RGB for retinal colour imaging, optomap colour RG, optomap fluorescein angiograpgy for vascular evaluation and disease detection, and optomap indocyanine green angiography for choroidal and vascular imaging.
The optomap Sensory Red-Free is included for highlighting nerve-fiber and vascular structures, optomap Choroidal Imaging for deep tissue visualisation, and optomap Green Autfluorescence for identifying retinal pigment epithelium changes and metabolic activity.
Finally, the optomap Blue Autofluoresence is featured for visualising subtle retinal pathology, and Swept-Source OCT for high-resolution, navigable imaging.
Masayuki Numako, director and executive vice president head of healthcare business division for Nikon Europe B.V described the Silverstone RGB as “transformative” for eye care professionals.
Numako suggested: “By combining 200-degree single-shot ultra-widefield optomap technology, true-to-life colour accuracy, and advanced swept-source OCT, clinicians can evaluate retinal pathology with unparalleled confidence, and efficiency.”

Hidden accents
Frames
Eyespace has spotlighted the latest optical release from the Aspinal of London collection.
Inspired by the chain strap of Aspinal’s ‘Mayfair’ bag, the ‘ASP L589’ features a metal accent inlaid along the top line of the temples.
The frame, incorporating eco-friendly materials, is available in a black with gold colourway or a glossy jewel-like blue.
Eyespace suggested the frame suits a wearer looking for “modern heritage luxury with a sustainable edge.”

Dual launch
Technology
Haag-Streit UK announced the global launch of the Elara 900 slit lamp and the Refractor 900 digital phoropter.
The new silt lamp features a projector-based P-Type light source, one-touch presets, and motorised height and magnification controls. An optional dual-camera setup enables immerseive 3D image and video capture in 4K.
The Refractor 900 features ultra-fast lens changes, 1/8 diopter adjustments in sphere and cylinder and real-time video imaging for accurate vertex distance measurement.

The sky’s the limit
Children
Kaleos Kids takes off with its latest collection designed for “young dreamers” with the campaign set in an airport.
The collection features kid’s versions of Kaleos’ iconic frames, reimagining them in colourful styles.
Highlights in the collection include the hexagonal sunglasses ‘Valka,’ the square sunglasses ‘Shelbourne,’ and the rounded ‘Brent.’
And don’t miss…

Compact UWF view
BiB Ophthalmic Instruments celebrated the UK launch of the Visionix VX625 ultra-widefield (UWF) fundus camera.
The device is a 25 megapixel non-mydriatic UWF fundus imaging system, providing a 176-degree image in one acquisition and 220 degrees with two acquisitions utilising the auto-montage feature.
The compact system has an image analysis and management platform to support fundus examinations and large-scale screenings.
BiB is the exclusive distributor for the product in the UK and EIRE. Tim Baker, CEO of BiB, said: "The Visionix VX625 offers a highly competitive price point and is very compact in design, making it more affordable and easier to integrate into any practice clinic setting.”

F is for…
Face à Face celebrated 30 years with The F Collection, bringing together heritage and innovation with bold shapes.
Every model in the collection begins with the letter ‘F’, which the company suggests also signifies its French roots and guaranteed French origin.
The collection features a variety of materials in an array of bright colours, such as the ‘Fold’ frame – inspired by the shapes of origami with a hidden colour pop.
The ‘Flicker’ frame gives a nod to gamers, the brand said, with a retro look, pixel-inspired bridge and endpieces and electric colours.

Referral refinement
Grafton Optical has introduced a national campaign exploring how the Reichert 7CR Auto Tonometer could help optometrists to adopt the NHS Get it Right First Time (GIRFT) principles.
Within ophthalmology the NHS initiative places emphasis on referral refinement to ensure only patients who require secondary care are referred to the hospital eye service.
The Reichert 7CR provides the same corneal compensated intraocular pressure (IOP) and IOPg (Goldmann correlated) measurements used in hospital glaucoma clinics. Grafton Optical suggested this would enable community practices to align with secondary care standards, refining referrals and reducing false positives.
