Staff from Edmonds & Slatter raised more than £1000 for LOROS Hospice by completing the annual Twilight Walk on Saturday 20th June.
Five colleagues from the independent practice group – operations manager Linda Southin, optical assistants Carol Barker, Natasha Cornish and Emily Steele, and Amy Coleburne, who manages marketing, PR and advertising for the group – took part in the 10k walk, which this year had a ‘glitter and glow’ theme.
The 2026 LOROS Twilight Walk was the sixteenth year that the event has run. More than 900 people joined this year’s event, raising around £75,000 in total, LOROS Hospice told OT.
LOROS Hospice runs the event annually, with the aim of raising funds to support its work providing care to terminally ill patients and their families across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.
The event started and finished at De Montfort University’s Vijay Patel Building. Participants walked through the centre of Leicester, and around the city’s Victoria Park.

Edmonds & Slatter, which is celebrating its 40th birthday in 2026, has selected LOROS Hospice as its charity of the year for 2026.
The Twilight Walk saw Edmonds & Slatter raise £1034.17 for the hospice.
Coleburne, one of those who took part in the walk, said: “The Twilight Walk was a fantastic event and a brilliant opportunity for our team to come together and support an incredible local charity.
“LOROS provides such important care for families across our region, and we’re delighted to have raised more than £1000 to help support their work. Thank you to everyone who donated and encouraged us along the way.”
