Mondottica shares top trends: Metal details, mirrored lenses, and a rainbow of red hues

Mondottica has highlighted five eyewear trends taking centre stage this season.
The eyewear company held its spring/summer 2025 showcase on 23 April, presenting the latest collections from its brand partners.
Displays were arranged around the five key trends that Mondottica expects to lead eyewear style in the coming months.
Red is expected to be the colour of choice for the next season, ranging from deep tones of red, to purples and pinks. Stand-out styles included AllSaints’ red cat’s eye, Maje’s deep wine-red frame, and a flower-like piece from Ted Baker.
Metal details will be a common feature this season, used to invoke a range of effects, such as an automobile-inspired grill-like finish on Hackett frames, or metal swirls on Christian Lacroix’s eyewear, reminiscent of Gaudi’s works.
Oversized frames continue to be a popular trend in eyewear. Mondottica highlighted a leopard-effect acetate from United Colours of Benetton and oversized aviators from Vivenne Westwood and Sandro.
Mondottica shared a rainbow of crystal acetate frames, suggesting that eyewear style has stepped into a “major jewel-like trend.” This trend can be seen in frames from brands including Pepe Jeans London and Joules.
Wrapping up the top trends for the season, mirrored lenses is set to be a major theme across collections. Frames from Reebok and Vivienne Westwood, amongst others, showcased this reflective style.
Sandra Battistel, Mondottica design director, commented: “A huge amount of research and innovation goes into the design and production of our brand partner’s eyewear collections. Our design team has worked extremely hard to translate the strongest and most exciting eyewear trends into wearable and desirable pieces.”
From its London studio, Mondottica’s in-house team designs the collections, also curating the materials and colours for every design.
