B Corp certification for Bollé Brands

Bollé Brands, the eyewear company behind Bollé, Serengeti and Spy, has achieved B Corp certification.
The group described the milestone as an “exciting step” in its environmental, social and governance (ESG) journey
The certification follows the launch of a new ESG strategy in 2021.
Peter Smith, CEO at Bollé Brands, said: “Bollé Brands is proud to join the B Corp community. Today represents another important milestone in our ongoing commitment to a more sustainable future.”

Smith described the journey to becoming a B Corp as a “rigorous but rewarding process.”
The ESG strategy introduced by Bollé Brands in 2021 set objectives and actions to achieve by 2027 and 2030, aiming to develop a more sustainable business model.
Bollé Brands highlighted steps in the journey so far, including work towards a 35% reduction in CO2 emissions per product by 2027 (compared to 2021). The company has reported progress of 15–20% reduction for Bollé Safety products.
The company has implemented the use of a Global Biodiversity Score to measure and reduce the impact on the erosion of biodiversity and is targeting a 5% reduction by 2027 compared to 2022.
The group is engaging its key suppliers in ethical progress, with 60% undergoing a supply chain sustainability audit (known as SMETA) in the past two years, and 80% of safety suppliers undergoing the audits.
ESG criteria has been applied to the employee renumeration schemes, with a bonus of 5% linked to ESG performance, as well as a commitment to paying all employees a Living Wage.
Bollé Brands’ ESG ambassadors have implemented more than 60 initiatives over the past two years including volunteer days, charity runs, product donations, and conferences on climate change.
The group noted that its progress towards sustainability and social responsibility is ongoing and closely monitored.
Bollé Brands highlighted its commitment to expanding its use of recycled and bio-based materials in product lines, using low-carbon energy in manufacturing processes, and fostering community engagement.

It reflects the extensive work we’ve done to integrate ESG into the core of our operations and the ongoing initiatives that will propel us towards a more sustainable future.
“For us, becoming a B Corp is more than just a label; it’s a promise of our company’s integrity and dedication to creating a positive impact on the world now, and into the future,” he added.
