The St Austell branch of Specsavers has supported four practitioners through their education to become qualified optometrists.
To date the practice has recruited four A-Level students from local colleges, employing them at the weekends and supporting them through university and their pre-reg period. Wanting to continue this work, the practice is calling on young students in the area to consider optometry as a career option.
Director of the St Austell store, Eric Barkhuysen, said: "A business is only as good as its people and at Specsavers we pride ourselves in recruiting the best talent out there.
"As a practice, we have a history of providing young students from local colleges a chance to develop a career in optics. These four staff members have helped to make the great team of 27 at St Austell even stronger."
