Eyewear brand launches natural PX frames

Neubau frames

Eyewear brand Neubau has introduced three new frames to its eco-friendly eyewear collection.

Since its establishment in 2016, the Austrian business has pledged to “respect the environment,” with a focus on using environmentally-friendly production processes.

The new styles – 'Bob,' 'Valerie' and 'Dani' – are described by the company as lightweight, flexible and sturdy. They are produced using natural PX, an eco-friendly polymer that is made from an oil extracted from castor plant seeds.

“As a highly renewable natural resource, the castor plant does not compete with food crops and can be planted in marginal land instead of food production land,” the company explained.

Using these production methods means that the company produces “significantly” less energy, effectively reducing carbon dioxide emissions, it said.

Neubau eyewear was established by international eyewear company Silhouette.
