AI-guided assessment
Equipment
Zeiss has launched Cirrus PathFinder – an artificial intelligence-guided optical coherence tomography (OCT) image assessment.
The integrated tool uses proprietary deep learning algorithms to identify abnormal macular OCT B-scans. Cirrus PathFinder was developed and trained on more than 75,000 OCT B-scan images and validated in collaboration with retinal specialists.
During image acquisition, the workflow tool flags areas that may need more detailed imaging, performing automatic quality assessments of scans.
The tool identifies OCT B-scans with macular findings such as subretinal fluid, intraretinal fluid, retinal pigment epithelium atrophy, retinal pigment epithelium elevation, disruption of inner retinal layers, disruption of the vitreoretinal interface, and inner segment/outer segment disruption.

A drop of fun
Accessories
Coti Vision has launched the ‘Goccia,’ a new necklace holder for eyewear made from recycled materials.
‘Goccia’ takes its name from the Italian word for ‘a droplet,’ which it has been designed to replicate, and is available in five colours.
The design includes an adjustable cord to enable users to keep eyewear easily accessible. The necklaces are packaged in a protective pouch and gift box.
Julie Hawkins and Nancy Gries, at Coti Vision, commented: “Not only does it offer a practical solution for keeping your glasses and sunglasses secure, but it also serves as a chic accessory that adds a touch of fun and flair to any look.”

Equipment
Grafton Optical has launched the AP-600 Visual Field Analyser from Frey Medical.
The compact design promotes patient comfort, while the scalable software is suitable for practices of all sizes. Examination reports are generated and displayed on the touch screen, enabling clinicians to interpret from the device.
A suite of bespoke visual field testing strategies and protocols are available on the platform to improve workflow and reduce clinic waiting times, including auto-focus eye tracking.
Images can be viewed on the screen and stimuli locations which have been tested with inadequate fixation are automatically flagged, so these can be selected and retested.
