Specsavers has opened the doors of a new practice in Chipping Norton, West Oxfordshire. It will be led by optical directors, Sundeep Rana, Trevor Robinson and Cathy Mullen, alongside audiology director, Sebastian de Scarfo.

The new practice opens with a team of 10 staff, and features three testing rooms, a contact lens area and a range of technology, including optical coherence tomography.

The official opening took place earlier this month and was attended by Gerald Cooper from Clarkson’s Farm and Gerald Stratford, known for sharing his love of growing large vegetables on Instagram, who joined the team for the ribbon cutting.

Representatives from Chipping Norton & District Cricket Club and Chipping Norton Swifts FC, sports teams that the practice sponsors, were invited to the official opening, alongside Age UK. Age UK is the charity partner of the practice’s Chatterbox bi-monthly informal ‘chat, cake and a cuppa’ event hosted in the area’s Lower Town Hall.

Speaking about the opening, Rana said: “We were overwhelmed with the support we received as part of the official opening. It was fantastic to celebrate all of the hard work that has gone into getting the practice ready to open. Making sure we are supporting and playing a part in the local community is something that is extremely important to us.”

During the opening, the practice made a £2000 donation to Prostate Cancer UK.

Robinson added: “It was wonderful to welcome so many people to our launch. It felt like the culmination of lots of work behind the scenes, and to have so much support shown to us and the whole team was just brilliant.
