CooperVision has launched its new clariti 1 day multifocal contact lenses in the UK and Ireland.

The contact lens features the CooperVision Binocular Progressive System – a 3 Add multifocal system – using different lens designs to optimise vision for all levels of presbyopia.

The design also hosts CooperVision’s Optimised Comfort Edge as well as WetLoc Technology to help maintain hydration throughout the day.

Lucy Davies, director of marketing and professional affairs at CooperVision UK and Ireland, said the launch of the new lens represents a “significant step forward” for the clariti 1 day portfolio.

“By applying the same advanced lens design introduced in our highly regarded MyDay multifocal, we’re giving ECPs across the UK and Ireland an even stronger tool to address the growing needs of presbyopic patients – and reinforcing clariti 1 day’s position as a complete and compelling portfolio,” she said.

The CooperVision Binocular Progressive System is designed to make it easier for eye care professionals to achieve the right fit efficiently, the company said.

A clinical study found 100% of patients fitted with clariti 1 day multifocal 3 Add were successfully fitted with two pairs of lenses or less.

Chithra Dhanabalan, professional affairs manager, UK and Ireland, at CooperVision, commented: “For ECPs, the combination of a simplified fitting process and strong fit success data makes a real difference in practice.”

“Presbyopia patients often present with complex visual needs, and the new clariti 1 day multifocal 3 Add gives practitioners confidence that they can deliver optimised vision and comfort with an easy fitting experience,” she said.

Dhanabalan added: “That means more time building patient relationships, and better outcomes for wearers who rely on their lenses every day.”
