Practitioners, patients and colleagues recently came together to celebrate a decade since Optegra opened its doors on Harley Street.

The Queen Anne Street facility has delivered more than 17,750 treatments since it opened in 2015, including laser eye surgery, cataract, and lens replacements

Senior hospital manager at the Optegra hospital, Mykal Keenan, said: “We are incredibly proud to have helped thousands of patients improve and restore their vision over the past decade, enhancing quality of life for so many.”

Guests at the celebratory event were given a tour of the hospital, and were able to meet surgeons and the medical team.

When Optegra Queen Anne Street was established 10 years ago it brought together two adjacent houses, creating a six-floor hospital that featured a laser suite, ophthalmic theatres, consultation rooms, an 11-bed day ward, and an office space.

Optegra’s chief medical officer, Amir Hamid, who has operated at the facility since it was established, acknowledged that “the hospital has changed and developed over the years.”

He shared: “We have adapted to changing needs over the past decade, not least the impact of the pandemic, as well as embracing latest technologies. We look forward to helping many more patients in the years ahead.”

Optegra Eye Health Care was first established in 2007. Today it has 78 eye hospitals across the UK, as well as in the Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia and Holland.
