Ocuco has launched Innovations 3, a new lab management software (LMS) that it says will bring users increased security and faster processing.
The new software delivers up to 120 times faster processing for optical labs, Ocuco said. It will also provide increased reliability, security, and compliance.
Innovations 3 will run from the Microsoft SQL Server, which includes advanced encryption, role-based access controls, and continuous vendor improvements, and is compliant with General Data Protection Regulation, as well as equivalent data protection law in the US and Canada.
It also includes improved audit trail capabilities and stronger data management controls, built with a tightening optical regulatory landscape in mind.
The product is designed for labs that handle edging, freeform, and conventional lens processing, across wholesale operations, retail, in-store and online. Optical labs can add functionality as they grow, via Innovations 3’s modular structure, Ocuco said.
Using this modular structure, Innovations 3 allows optical labs to set custom rules to shape production decisions. Users can also access the software remotely and via a browser, in to order track jobs and view status updates.
Ocuco noted that, during testing of Innovations 3, a batch of 3000 status updates that previously took more than 10 minutes was completed in five seconds.
The product has been in development for 15 months, and marks Ocuco’s biggest investment in its software to date.

Patrick Broe, vice president of sales for Ocuco’s lab division, emphasised: “Innovations 3 puts our lab customers ahead of where the industry is heading, not just caught up to it.
“It is built to keep adding capability over time, so labs won’t need to go through another platform change to stay current.”
Innovations 3 is already in use in some optical labs, with rollout continuing over the coming months.
