More than 920 practitioners attended OT’s dedicated Locum Day webinar series on Sunday (30 November) for a day of education tailored to meet the needs of locums.
Delivered for a third consecutive year as a result of its popularity, the day comprised four one-hour CPD-accredited webinars exploring a range of topics that aimed to support locums in building their confidence in navigating different practice environments while enhancing their skills.
Topics ranged from rights and responsibilities when managing risk in practice and retinal pathology, to first fit toric contact lens success and the paediatric eye assessment.
Sponsored by the vVsion team at Johnson & Johnson, all four webinars are now available to view on-demand in OT’s Education library.
Dr Ian Beasley, head of education for the AOP and OT clinical editor, told OT: “Locum Day provides a platform for practitioners working in this space to receive tailored CPD content on key topics and enables them to share their experiences in an online environment.”
The webinar day, hosted by OT in partnership with the AOP, was the fifth education themed day delivered this year. Other topics that have been explored in this CPD format have included: OCT Day, Practice Team Day, Glaucoma Day, and MAYopia Day.
