The Hakim Group hosted a networking weekend for more than 400 of its independent practice members in Chamonix, France, from 10–13 January.

Practices from the UK, the Republic of Ireland and the Channel Islands attended the weekend, which focused on learning and collaboration alongside business development.

Hakim Group CEO, Imran Hakim, alongside leadership team members from Hakim Group’s head office, also joined practitioners for the weekend.

The trip was an opportunity for practices to receive an update on the group’s Vision 2030 five-year plan, which focuses on ‘empowering independent practices and driving sustainable growth.’

The weekend also saw Hakim Group practice partners take part in a SharkTank session, where the future was discussed.

Ben Packer, optometrist and director at Stephen Evans Optometrists in Swansea, became a partner at Hakim Group in 2022.

He said: “This was my first SharkTank abroad, and it was incredible to see how Hakim Group supports its partners.

“The weekend showcased the group’s dedication to helping independent practices flourish.”

Packer called the weekend “an unforgettable experience.”

On the slopes, ski lessons for beginners were provided. Après ski activities were also organised for the evenings.

Sally Litchfield, chief people officer at Hakim Group, said: “Our people and culture are at the heart of everything we do.

“Events like this weekend in Chamonix allow us to strengthen our community of independent practices, share knowledge, and inspire each other.”

She added: “By combining fun with professional development, we’re building a likeminded network that thrives on collaboration and mutual success.”
