Employees of SpaMedica, the independent provider of NHS cataract surgery, raised £32,980 for charity over 2024.

The funds were raised through a range of activities organised by employees across the network of SpaMedica hospitals.

The donations will support people living with conditions including sight loss, dementia, and cancer.

Guide Dogs UK is one of the organisations that has benefited from the fundraising, as was Macmillan Cancer Support.

Gemma Spencer, community fundraising relationship manager at Guide Dogs, said: “A huge thank you to the teams who’ve done incredibly well to raise so much for us. Support such as this makes a real difference, allowing us to continue funding our life-changing services for people living with sight loss.”

Tom Fellows, head of policy and value proposition at SpaMedica, commented: “Teams across SpaMedica embrace our values of kindness wholeheartedly and are incredibly generous, both in their approach to their work, and to helping others.”

“Each year, they are responsible for improving the vision of thousands of patients – in many cases, transforming their lives,” Fellows said, adding: “They also go above and beyond to fundraise for charities that work hard to improve the lives of people across the country.”
