Eyespace has received a silver award for its children’s eyewear brand, Rock Star, at the 2024 Junior Design Awards.
The awards, hosted by Junior Magazine, were announced on 4 November, with Eyespace taking home the silver in the category of children’s best fashion accessory.
Commenting on the decision to award Eyespace with the silver accolade, the panel of judges agreed that: “With an ever-growing need for spectacles amongst children, the judging team felt that this collection had responded to a real need in the market for glasses that are super comfortable and visually appealing to kids.”
Bonita Turner, editor of Junior Magazine, commented: “Sustainability, style and innovation all in one very cool package. A fantastic choice for kids that will reassure parents that eye health is at the fore.”
Nicky Clement, head of marketing at Eyespace, said of the announcement: “We are incredibly proud to receive this award. Our Rock Star collection has been offering children stylish and functional eyewear for over 10 years, and to be recognised in this category is a real testament to the hard work and passion of our team.”
The award-winning entry focused on the importance of correct paediatric fitting in addressing the vision needs of children, Eyespace said, focusing on balancing “fashion, durability, sustainability, and technical innovation.”
Clement shared: “Rock Star frames are specifically designed to help manage progressive myopia, while staying on top of current fashion trends with bold, eye-catching colours that appeal to kids of all ages and genders.”
The latest additions to the Rock Star collection include the round model, ‘Clairo,’ which sits within the line’s Smart Fit category of frames.
Smart Frames have been designed through an extensive period of research and development into correct paediatric frame fitting. In consultation with an industry expert, the product and design team at Eyespace have re-written design protocols to ensure fitting based on how a child’s facial features adapt with age. Smart Frames are also suitable for myopia management lenses.
