LOCSU seeks clinical board directors

The Local Optical Committee Support Unit (LOCSU) is currently seeking to recruit four new clinical board directors.

Highlighting the vacancies, LOCSU described the roles as providing an “exciting opportunity for you to use your skills and expertise,” enabling practitioners to “bring forward views and knowledge gained from local optical committees in England to inform board discussions and decisions to develop and improve eye care within England.”

On appointment, the roles begin on 1 April for a term of two or three years, which stagger with the appointment of future board directors.

Board members are required to attend approximately 10 meetings a year, including board a minimum of four times in London.

LOCSU chair, Dr Joy Tweed, said: “Being a board member is a responsible but rewarding role. If you have the skills and experience, I do hope you will consider this leadership opportunity and apply.”

Previous board experience is not essential as training and support will be provided.
