BHVI myopia calculator introduces additional language and ethnicity options
17 April 2018
The online Myopia Calculator by the Brien Holden Vision Institute (BHVI) has received an update.
The new features include an ethnicity option, as well as extending languages to include Spanish and Mandarin.
Launched in 2017, the online tool is able to use patient information to provide insight into different optical and pharmacological treatment options, while illustrating their impact on the patient’s myopia levels.
The newly-introduced ethnicity option allows practitioners to use either Asian or Caucasian during their progression calculation.
Accessible on a range of devices, including desktop, tablet and smartphone, the calculator can estimate the annual myopia progression of a patient using age, refractive error and ethnicity.
To access the calculator, visit the BHVI website.
