ABDO and ITN Productions team up for third year running
News-style programme highlighting dispensing innovation to premiere at Optrafair
23 February 2016
The Association of British Dispensing Opticians (ABDO) and ITN Productions have confirmed that they will be entering into a partnership to produce a news and current affairs-style programme for a third year consecutive year.
The programme will explore the latest innovations and achievements of dispensing opticians. The first part of ABDO Insight 2016 will premiere at Optrafair on Sunday 10 April at Birmingham NEC. Another programme will be released to coincide with National Eye Health Week (19–25 September).
Introduced by national newsreader Natasha Kaplinsky (pictured), the news-style programme will feature key industry interviews and news-style reports, along with sponsored editorial profiles of some of the leading organisations.
The programme will aim to provide a greater understanding of the role of opticians by examining the most important challenges and opportunities that lie ahead, as well as capturing the latest developments and best practice, particularly in the area of paediatric dispensing, lens technology and spectacles frames.
Simon Shelley, head of industry news at ITN Productions said: “ITN Productions has enjoyed its partnership with the Association of British Dispensing Opticians, and we’re keen to embark on another programme exploring the nation’s eye health.
“By bringing new innovations and solutions to screen, and looking into the organisations and the passionate people behind them, we hope to spark new dialogue that could shape the future.”
