Ocuco recognised in business awards

The supplier of eye care solutions was named one of Ireland’s Best Managed Companies for the sixth time

Leo Mac Canna, CEO of Ocuco, holds a certificate which celebrates Ocuco being named as one of Ireland’s Best Managed Companies 2023

Ocuco has been recognised as one of Ireland’s Best Managed Companies for the sixth year, in an award ceremony led by Deloitte Ireland, in association with Bank of Ireland.

In August, the eye care solutions company secured a €60 million investment from a tech-focused private equity firm, Accel-KKR, to accelerate Ocuco’s global expansion.

The investment enables the company to meet industry demand for omnichannel solutions, through its Acuitas 3 OmniChannel Edition cloud-based software solution.

The partnership is also expected to stimulate merger and acquisition opportunities.

Leo Mac Canna, CEO of Ocuco, said: “We are deeply honoured to be awarded as one of Ireland’s Best Managed Companies for the sixth year, a credit to our dedicated team and every Ocuco employee.

“The investment we received this year from Accel-KKR validates our strong performance and financial stability, empowering us to support eye care businesses worldwide.”

Deloitte recognised 130 companies representing 24 of the 32 counties across the island of Ireland, in the 15th annual awards ceremony.

The Best Managed Companies programme promotes excellence in Irish and Northern Irish owned and managed companies, through a detailed judging process that evaluates areas including a company’s environmental, social and governance standards, strategic planning, and talent strategy.

Nikki Canavan, senior director, head of origination and sustainability, Corporate Banking Ireland, and a judging panel member, commented: “This year in particular – a year that tested Irish businesses like never before – the judges noted the commitment, bravery, resilience and tenacity of the applicant companies.”
