Case studies from the guide will be presented at a London launch event

Heidelberg glaucoma atlas

Heidelberg Engineering will launch a diagnostic imaging guide for glaucoma assessment and management at the Royal Society of Medicine in London on 7 June.

The Glaucoma imaging atlas features expertise from 27 contributors from five countries and 30 patient case studies, which will be presented at the launch event.

Case study presentations will be made by the director of clinical research in Germany for Heidelberg Engineering, Ali Tafreshi; the UK director of clinical affairs, Christopher Mody; and senior consultant ophthalmologist at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg in Germany, Dr Christian Mardin.

Speaking about the guide, Mr Tafreshi said: “This atlas is the culmination of extensive interpretation of optical coherence tomography (OCT) images and data by some of the most respected clinicians in the field. It will be used as a teaching tool to further educate the medical community on the implementation of our OCT technology, as an aid to diagnosis and management, enabling effective, individualised patient care.”
