A person’s choice of eyewear can reveal a lot about the individual, believes Chelsea Kent, social media and VIP relations co-ordinator at The Goods Agency.

When she isn’t liaising between brands and influencer talent, she is sharing eyewear launches across the agency’s social media, or, as a model herself, creating content to celebrate the latest in frame design. In a conversation with OT, Kent shared her favourite styles and top tips.

How many pairs of spectacles or sunglasses do you own?

I have 59 – a mixture of small independent brands, designer, vintage, and of course some frames from brands we represent at The Goods Agency. I have been gifted quite a few of my frames, and the rest I buy if I fall in love with them.

What shapes, colours, or styles do you usually go for?

Such a variety, but I do love rectangle and oval shapes. I have quite a small head and I feel that smaller glasses suit me much more than big ones. Usually, I go for black or darker coloured frames, with a black lens, or a lighter coloured frame with a coloured lens. I love a coloured lens – particularly blue or pink.

Can you describe your favourite pair?

The 'Club Kid’ gold visors by Hot Futures. I wear them day and night. I have worn them to death and I never get bored; they elevate every outfit. They have a Y2K vibe, with an amber lens, so they are perfect for clubs. I am obsessed with them.

Who would you pick as your style icon when it comes to eyewear?

Parisa [Louvel] Badkidhq on Instagram is such a style queen in all aspects. The frames she wears are very similar to the styles that suit me, and everything she pieces together is just so cool.

What does vision and eye health mean to you?

Eye health is imperative. It is very important to look after your eyes and your vision, but for most of us. We also want to feel stylish too and there are so many frames on the market now that make people feel confident and trendy, whilst protecting our eyes.

How important is eyewear in reflecting your personality?

Eyewear is the best accessory, I feel, that can describe your look, mood, and personality. From classy, elegant, neutral frames, to fun, loud, and quirky glasses. I can read so much about a person from their eyewear choice.

What are your top three tips for selecting the right pair of frames?

  1. Pick something that elevates your outfit
  2. Make sure the frames are comfortable on your face and you can see clearly through them, so you are not constantly taking them off
  3. Wear frames you feel confident in.

When did you join the Goods Agency and what can you tell us about your role?

I joined The Goods Agency in November 2023. I oversee all VIP and influencer activity, securing coverage with them for our brands. On a day-to-day basis, I have showroom appointments with, and loan items to talent for industry events, such as fashion weeks and for content shooting purposes. Most of our brands also like to do gifting for each of their new collection launches, in which case I pull together a list of profiles who I feel would be a good match for the brand and collection to reach out to.

I also manage The Goods Agency’s Instagram account, sharing our brands’ updates, news, launches, and reposting content with talent wearing our brands. I also create some content myself for the brands, which I post on our account under ‘Chelsea wears.’
