Optical professionals are invited to complete a 10-minute online survey on the accessibility of digital eye care – including the NHS App.

Survey results will inform a position summary and recommendations by the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for Eye Health and Visual Impairment.

An introduction to the questionnaire states: “This survey focuses particularly on the NHS App and how it could better support visually impaired people. Findings will be used to identify key barriers and opportunities for improving digital inclusion in eye care and to inform the APPG’s recommendations.”

The APPG is seeking responses from blind and visually impaired people, clinicians, accessibility specialists, advocacy groups and NHS policymakers.

Topics covered within the survey include how visually impaired people currently navigate digital eye care, and where digital eye care services could be made more accessible.

While themes, examples or evidence provided as part of the survey may be included in the APPG’s position paper, the APPG will not refer to named individuals.

Those interested in completing the survey can do so through Microsoft Forms. The survey will close on 3 July at 5pm.
