An optical outreach initiative delivered eye care to more than 300 children in disadvantaged communities in Guatemala.

Eyespace supported the outreach project in collaboration with Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Rawlings Opticians & Hearing Care, and Hoya.

Led by Nadeem Ali, of the London Squint Clinic, the team carried out eye examinations for more than 300 children, identifying those in need of corrective lenses and helping to provide access to glasses.

As part of its contribution, Eyespace supplied a selection of frames from its Rockstar brand, designed for young wearers.

The frames were chosen to ensure durability, comfort, and suitability across a wide range of sizes and fits.

The selection was curated based on practicality and longevity in order to support the needs of children in environments where access to optical care and replacement eyewear can be limited.

Julie Abel, co-founder of Eyespace, commented: “Access to clear vision is something many of us take for granted, yet it has a profound impact on a child’s ability to learn, develop and engage with the world around them.”

“We are incredibly pleased to be involved in supporting such a meaningful initiative alongside our partners, contributing to something that will have a lasting impact for the children in need,” she said.

The initiative builds on previous collaborations between the partners.

Eyespace highlighted that the project aligns with its commitments to responsible business practices and to making a positive impact beyond the optical industry.
