Recognising excellence in independent practice
An awards evening held during the SightCare Live conference celebrated practices across 10 categories

Independent practices have received recognition for clinical excellence, innovation, and community engagement at the SightCare Live conference, 26–27 April, Birmingham.
Practices and individuals were honoured across a total of 10 categories.
The award evening saw Kelcher Optometrists named Independent Practice of the Year.
The practice was recognised for exceptional all-round performance combining “clinical excellence, innovation and deep-rooted community engagement.”
Webb, Lucas & Stubbs Optometrists received the award for clinical excellence, and Yorkshire Eyewear received an award for customer service excellence.
Long-standing practice of the year was presented to Richard Petrie Optometrists, and VisionCare Development was recognised for the specialist clinic award.
Community practice of the year was awarded to Eye 2 Eye Opticians, practice team of the year was presented to The Eyeworks, and S G Eyecare was named environmental practice of the year.
A heart of the practice award was presented to Tanya McKinney of Eglinton Eyecare.
Park Lane Opticians was named frame styling practice of the year, receiving an exclusive prize package from eyewear brand Feb31st including a visit to the company’s headquarters and factory in the Italian Alps.
Emma Rawlings, CEO of SightCare, said: “Each of our winners represents the very best of independent optometry. Their dedication, innovation and commitment to patient care is truly inspiring.”
“These awards are not just about recognition, but about celebrating the passion and standards that continue to strengthen our profession and the communities we serve,” she added.
Winners were presented with certificates and a handcrafted award created by West Country Blacksmiths, chosen to reflect the individuality and craftsmanship at the heart of independent practice.
