Specsavers celebrated the reopening of its flagship practice with a ribbon-cutting by founder Dame Mary Perkins on 12 January.

The practice, which now boasts five consulting rooms and a dedicated audiology centre, will run four eye clinics per day.

The new practice is located at 237–247 Tottenham Court Road in Central London.

Patients will benefit from the latest diagnostic testing equipment, as well as a range of both designer glasses and value-led frames.

The overall investment in the new premises cost £1.2 million.

Dame Mary Perkins was on hand to cut the green ribbon as the practice opened to the public for the first time.

Perkins said: “Specsavers has been proud to serve the West End for many years, and this new practice is a reflection of our ongoing commitment to the local community.

“We’re delighted to continue building strong relationships here, offering trusted care and creating a welcoming space for everyone who walks through our doors.”

Specsavers has had a presence in London’s West End for more than 26 years.

The new site also offers a soundproof booth for patients to have their hearing checked, a diagnostic testing area, and a contact lens station with enhanced facilities.

Ophthalmic director at the practice, Sirjit Sanghera, said that the new-look practice “offers customers a more streamlined experience, including an updated IT system and access to the very latest diagnostic hospital grade equipment.”

Staff were “thrilled” that Perkins was there to celebrate the opening, Sanghera said.
