Milton Keynes independent celebrates 30 years
Family-owned Clearsight Opticians recognised the milestone anniversary in the last months of 2025
05 January 2026
A family-owned practice in Milton Keynes rounded off 2025 with a celebration of its 30th anniversary.
Clearsight Opticians, which was established in 1995 by Arif and Sukaina Master, hosted a celebration event to recognise the milestone, with a quiz, raffles, and cake.
The event was attended by the mayor of Milton Keynes, Councillor James Lancaster, Millmead Optical Group, and patients who have supported the practice “virtually from the start.”
Sukaina Master, practice manager, told OT: “Reaching this milestone means a lot to us. We started out from scratch and we’ve had amazing, very loyal patients. We couldn’t have done it without our patients, staff, everybody together.”
Master shared: “The vision all started with my mother-in-law, Arif’s mum. She encouraged him to open his own opticians, and it is because of her that we are where we are. It is through that encouragement, and hard work, that the practice has come this far.”
The team has seen the local area build up around the practice over the last three decades, and patients who joined as small children grow into adults.
A key moment in the journey was when the couple’s daughter, Fatema, joined the practice as an optometrist.
“It’s a family business, and our daughter joined us a few years ago, which was amazing,” Master said.

The practice has its own lab for glazing, purchased an optical coherence tomography machine a few years ago, and offers both Community Urgent Eyecare Services (CUES) and Minor Eye Conditions Services (MECS).
Being able to provide MECS and CUES has been reassuring for patients who can be seen within a short period of time by an optometrist, reducing the stress of an eye care issue. Master said: “We’ve had so many patients who have been absolutely amazed by the services we provide to them quite quickly.”
For the 31st year and beyond, the practice is considering investing in new equipment, while team members have also continued pursuing further qualifications.
