EssilorLuxottica has announced plans to acquire Signifeye, a Belgian ophthalmology provider with 15 eye centres and eye clinics.

The agreement follows the acquisition of Optegra, an ophthalmology provider in Europe with more than 70 clinics in the UK, Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia, and the Netherlands, which completed this year.

The transaction is expected to close by the first quarter of 2026.

Kathleen Moons, chief executive officer at Signifeye, said: “Joining forces with EssilorLuxottica and Optegra marks a transformative chapter for Signifeye.”

“By combining their global leadership in vision care with our commitment to patient care and clinical excellence, we look forward to building the future of eye care together,” Moons added.

Francesco Milleri, chairman and chief executive officer, and Paul du Saillant, deputy chief executive officer at EssilorLuxottica, commented: “With Signifeye joining EssilorLuxottica’s ecosystem, we strengthen our ability to deliver truly end-to-end eye care and redefine what medical excellence can be across the entire patient journey.”
